About Rostrevor

Rostrevor is a small beautiful village in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is situated about 9 miles from Newry at the base of Slieve Martin and on the coast of Carlingford Lough.

It is not to be confused with Rostrevor, South Australia. The village is known for the Fiddlers Green Festival, a well known folk festival. The late folk singer Tommy Makem, wrote the famous song ‘The Town of Rostrevor’.

Other notable landscape features of Rostrevor include the Kilbroney river which runs through the village and Rostrevor Forest. The forest features many spruce, fir and pines that were first planted in 1931.

Catch a glimpse of some of the best Northern Irish mountain bike trails near to Rostrevor. With a 27km red trail and another 19km trial, Rostrevor is believed by many to be the top spot for mountain biking in Ireland.
